Felt and Mosaic Workshops at Fountains Abbey

1st December 2016

Two very successful Felt Workshops were held at Fountains Abbey, led by Emma Manners, in November.  Despite it being very cold with poor light the KS4 students were able to work on site, in the Abbey.  They produced interesting work for their GCSE portfolios.  The group then used these studies to create exciting, individual felts.  Both students said how much they enjoyed the day.

KS3 students also enjoyed this privilege of working at Swanley Grange, in the National Trust grounds and each made a large, felted, tropical fish picture.  These make great displays and look good at home.

I would once again like to thank Emma and the staff at Fountains Abbey for putting on these workshops for us.  We are always made to feel very welcome and it is such a privilege to come and work in such a special place.
