Angling and Pond Conservation

The students at Grove academy are responsible for the care and maintainance of Crimple Pond, a local pond which requires regular maintainance to enable the flourishing wild life there to continue flourishing!

Wildlife indentified in the area inlcude dragon and damsel flies, many species of plants, and an abundance of bird life! 

In terms of the angling, many species of fish have been identifed including: Bream, Chubb, Carp and Rudd. 

The students develop a variety of skills based round the developing life of the pond. 

Students work towards CAST and UNIT awards for their conservation and fishing skills.
